Finding your Goldilocks Zone of Martial Arts training
The Goldilocks Zone of Martial Arts
Finding the Goldilocks Zone of martial arts will help you grow at an exceptional rate while avoiding the burnout that many students face early on. This zone refers to a training zone that is neither too intense nor too comfortable. But rather, it’s just right for optimal growth and success. In martial arts, the student is asked to put his/her body through intense training. Drills, exercises, sparring…these are just a few of the requirements of a student who plans to reach the coveted rank of Black Belt. So how hard should your martial arts training be? Should you exhaust yourself 100% during every training session? As it turns out, finding the right training zone is more effective than simply pushing yourself to the limit.
Check out this video where I share a few thoughts on how to gauge the intensity of your training. I also discuss how hard you really should (and shouldn’t) push yourself.
WARNING: There are a few explicit words (not mine, but funny) in the video
